The Siemens Xcelerator platform will be at the heart of this project, revolutionizing the district and making it “livable and fit for the future.” Leveraging digital twin technology, Siemens aims to transform a century-old industrial site in Berlin’s Spandau area into a hub for manufacturing, research, learning, and community living.
This visionary initiative will not only provide space for social housing, but also create around 20,000 employment opportunities through partnerships with various companies. The district’s masterplan focuses on connectivity and smart data, ensuring that errors and inefficiencies are detected and preemptively addressed within the virtual replica of the area.
Siemens has developed three distinct digital twins to form a comprehensive overview of the district. The campus twin consolidates relevant information about buildings and planning status, while the building twin offers photorealistic depictions for replanning purposes. Moreover, the energy twin streamlines energy management, contributing to the overall sustainability and efficiency of Siemensstadt Square.
