Dobbies Community Gardens has recently announced the selection of community and charity groups across the UK that will receive support to transform, restore, or begin their indoor or outdoor green spaces this year. Among the recipients are Action for Children in Camden, St Vincent’s Centre in Brixton, and Kensington Primary Academy.

Over 660 groups submitted applications to Dobbies Community Gardens when it opened in March. Each little dobbies store chose a local project to support from the numerous nominations received. The selected winners will now benefit from personalized one-on-one sessions with little dobbies’ colleagues in their respective stores, serving as a catalyst for their projects. The little dobbies team will be there every step of the way to offer guidance and support.

In addition to receiving a range of products, tools, and plants, the winning groups will also be allocated volunteer hours to ensure the successful implementation and continued maintenance of their outdoor spaces. This commitment from Dobbies Community Gardens demonstrates their dedication to creating sustainable and flourishing green spaces.

Among the recipients, Action for Children in Camden aims to promote equal opportunities for disabled young people, providing community-based services that enable them to connect with others, explore their communities, and embrace new experiences. Meanwhile, St Vincent’s Centre in Brixton serves as a valuable community hub.

By partnering with community and charity groups, Dobbies Community Gardens is making a significant impact on the lives of individuals and communities throughout the UK. Through the transformation and maintenance of green spaces, these initiatives foster a sense of belonging, well-being, and environmental stewardship.
