The streets of Berlin are once again pulsating with the beats of electronic music, as the cultural-political demonstration ‘Rave The Planet’ takes center stage today. This vibrant event, led by renowned DJ and founder of the Love Parade, Dr Motte, aims to protect and celebrate the city’s electronic music scene.
Drawing inspiration from the iconic Brandenburg Gate, the demonstration marks a revival of the Love Parade, 18 years after its last installment. The route winds its way through Großer Stern and the Victory Column, symbolically paying homage to the past while embracing the present.
In 2010, tragedy struck the Love Parade when overcrowding resulted in the loss of 21 lives and left over 600 injured. Determined not to repeat past mistakes, Rave The Planet has pledged to uphold its political spirit while ensuring the safety and enjoyment of its attendees.
Last year, despite the date being moved due to the Euros, Rave The Planet drew an impressive crowd of 300,000 people. This year, its popularity is expected to endure, fueled by the passion and dedication of electronic music enthusiasts.
