This weekend, commuters in London should be prepared for some disruptions and closures on the Underground and Overground lines. To ensure a smooth journey, it is advisable to plan ahead.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on the Underground, travelers can conveniently use the Transport for London (TfL) app or website. These platforms provide real-time updates on any service disruptions or changes.

Starting on Friday, May 17, the London Overground will experience a partial closure. From Monday to Thursday, after 11:30 PM, there will be no southbound service from Sydenham to West Croydon. This may affect commuters planning to travel in that direction during these hours.

Additionally, the Waterloo & City line will have altered operating hours. It will operate as usual on weekdays, between 6 am and 12:30 am. However, there will be no services available on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

On Saturday, May 18, the disruption continues. The London Overground will have no service between Hackney Downs and Enfield Town / Cheshunt. Passengers traveling through these areas are advised to utilize the London Underground and London Buses connections between Liverpool Street and Seven Sisters. Clapton station can be used as an alternative for Rectory Road and Stoke Newington.

Furthermore, the Piccadilly line will also experience closures on the same day. There will be no service between Acton Town and Uxbridge. To reach Uxbridge, passengers can make use of the Metropolitan line services between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge.

Keeping oneself informed about the service disruptions and alternative routes is essential to avoid any unnecessary delays or inconvenience. By planning ahead and using the resources available through TfL, commuters can minimize any disruptions to their weekend travel plans.
