In an impressive creation that took over six months to complete, Dan crafted a colossal cartoon map of the capital, featuring over 850 iconic landmarks and influential figures. From ancient Roman remains to renowned museums, from infamous housing estates to legendary chicken shops, the artwork captures the essence of London’s past and present.
The awe-inspiring 5,000 sq ft (465 sq m) masterpiece will be exhibited in Stratford, East London, coinciding with the commencement of the highly anticipated London Mural Festival. While Angry Dan is well-known for his vibrant and large-scale illustrated limericks adorning the city’s walls, this venture presented a new creative pursuit for him. Inspired by his time as a London tour guide, where he introduced foreign language students to the city’s tourist hotspots, Dan decided to create a visual representation of London’s glory.
Immersing himself in extensive research, Dan dedicated over 1,000 hours to curate the map, delving into blogs, Reddit, and Facebook groups. His deep exploration allowed him to discover hidden gems and uncover lesser-known tales, adding depth and intrigue to his artwork.
