A group of talented high school students from the Seattle area recently participated in the TiE Young Entrepreneur (TYE) Seattle chapter finals competition. The event, held at Bellevue City Hall, provided an opportunity for the young entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative business ideas and vie for a chance to compete in TYE’s Global Business Plan Competition next month.

One standout team, Soundwave, emerged as the winners of the competition. Soundwave developed an artificial intelligence-enabled accent softening program designed to enhance customer satisfaction for call center agents. Their groundbreaking idea earned them the top prize of $2,750 and a ticket to the global competition.

Other noteworthy participants included KEY Beauty and MyPath. KEY Beauty presented an AI and scanning technology platform that accurately matches makeup shades for girls and women of color. They were awarded $1,250 for their exceptional concept. MyPath, on the other hand, showcased an innovative AI-driven college counseling bot that provides personalized feedback and comprehensive application analysis for high school students. They received a prize of $1,000 for their outstanding idea.

In addition to these top contenders, several other teams were recognized for their remarkable contributions. Ten teams received $250 awards in various categories such as teamwork, execution, customer validation, elevator pitch, and business model. Furthermore, three teams received honorable mention prizes of $100 each.

The TYE program, which focuses on nurturing and mentoring young entrepreneurs, played a pivotal role in grooming these talented individuals. Over the course of the program, 14 teams consisting of ambitious high school students received guidance and mentorship to bring their business ideas to life.

The TYE 2023-2024 program proved to be a remarkable platform for these young minds to exercise their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. With their groundbreaking ideas and problem-solving solutions, these students are setting the stage for a promising future of innovation and business acumen.
