According to the Women in India’s Startup Ecosystem Report (WISER), Goa has experienced an impressive 33 percent growth in women-led startups, reflecting a positive shift towards more gender diversity in entrepreneurship.

The rise of women-led startups in Goa is indicative of a broader trend in the global business landscape. Between 2017 and 2021, the percentage of women-led startups in India increased to 18%, showcasing a significant increase in female representation in the startup ecosystem.

With 76 out of 225 registered startups in the state being led by women as either founders or co-founders, women are playing a crucial role in driving innovation and contributing to the economic growth of Goa. Their entrepreneurial spirit is bringing fresh perspectives and diversifying the startup landscape in the region.

The government of Goa has been actively supporting the growth of startups through a range of initiatives.
